Firstly, I'm no expert on a lot of the topics you will find on here. It's all accurate, as far as I know, and I won't deliberately send you down any dark alleys at midnight. However, everything I write is based on my own knowledge, be that first or second-hand and it is not impossible that what was a very pleasant little street two months ago is now a dark alley.
prices
Comments about the price of goods or services (ie, 'cheap' / 'rip-off' ) are based on what I think. I probably spend about 5000Y a month, and live quietly but comfortably. I take taxis when I feel like it, but am more likely to take the bus, assuming I know which one to get. I eat out all the time, but rarely anything other than local food.
