I know that an HSK certificate is sometimes optional for gaining acceptance into some university programs in China. Let's say it's NOT required...will my chances of getting the scholarship improve if I've got an HSK6 certificate under my belt? Thanks for the help! If you're applying for an MA or PhD, the HSK will allow you to skip a "one year preparation" period. Otherwise, you will need to add on a year or two for that (the scholarship covers this).
