I'm reading it for a college course and it can be found (along w/a lot of other great stories) in the Columbia Anthology of Modern Chinese Literature. He feels lonely, but he doesn’t know how to express his feelings to others, for his sentiment as a student from a developing country in a developed one. He’s longing for love & sex with his pure, blue and poetic heart, which he is too shy to declare and tries so hard to constrain, but the reality only gives him frustration. He thinks that he’s sinking in lewd ideas. However, he’s sinking in loneliness, in my opinion. 呵呵，《沉沦》的男主角可真是个色狼啊。不过这年头，这种纯情又闷骚的色狼还真不多见啊。噗嗤噗嗤。 Cheers!
