Olle Linge Posted March 27, 2015 at 10:25 PM Report Share Posted March 27, 2015 at 10:25 PM Hi!I tried it out for a few minutes, so I'm sorry if I have overlooked something: Works well in general Do the colours mean anything? Can you do anything with marked words? Otherwise there's no difference between marking and showing Pinyin? The definitions are almost too non-intrusive (annoyingly far from where I'm reading) Just a few quick thoughts.

querido Posted March 28, 2015 at 01:40 PM Report Share Posted March 28, 2015 at 01:40 PM The definition being on the bottom, always in the same place and very smooth in operation, looks better than most popups I've seen.

Demonic_Duck Posted March 28, 2015 at 03:39 PM Report Share Posted March 28, 2015 at 03:39 PM You might want to find another way to show segmentation, colouring of characters is strongly associated with tones in the minds of many Chinese learners (many widely-used tools and websites use it). Shelley Posted March 28, 2015 at 07:15 PM Report Share Posted March 28, 2015 at 07:15 PM I associate the colours with tones. I thought that was what is was and was confused. 1st - red, 2nd - green, 3rd - purple, 4th - blue and grey for neutral. Seems to be a widely used standard. Yes, that's what threw me off. Regarding the placement of the definitions, I don't think it's a problem, really, it might even be better to have them slightly out of the way so you don't rely too much on the dictionary when reading. Suggested function: Copy all marked words to the clipboard or otherwise export them (with pronunciation and definition).
