I knew he had sentences and audio, but I had no idea what people were supposed to do with them to learn a language, and didn't see how this could be considered to be a "Method". So I recently checked out his site, and read some reviews. Although he has a more extensive plan for how the material should be used, is this not just a copy of Learn in Your Car? L1 pause L2 pause L2? Words early on, then sentences? If I have this wrong, my apologies. I don't doubt that he has more material, and that the sentences are more native-like; hell - learn in your car was one of those programs that tried to treat every language the same. But if Glossika is using the same format, shouldn't they admit it, and give credit where credit is due? I'd like to try out this product, but the 30 Day Free Trial link seems to be broken, and they didn't answer my email. I liked Learn in you Car, but their Mandarin product sucks. I wanted to drill sentences rather than just words and this seemed like the best project available. The method outlined in the PDF file I received isn't just listen and repeat. I'm on my phone now so can't see the exact outline (im fairly sure someone posted it on the Glossika thread). It includes listening, repeating, recording yourself, rewriting the sentences. There have been other audio based products that revolve around repeating sentences — Pimsleur and the other bloke I forget his name — but what Glossika offers is an intensive study programme. It relies on different forms of repetition: standard audio repetition, dictation, recording and interpretation. Maybe none of these things on their own are new, but Glossika puts them together in a useful package and shows you how to get the best out of it. Not to mention, Glossika is much cheaper than its competitors. For me, the problem with Glossika is more the customer service and some faults in the product itself, both of which are probably teething problems for a relatively new and ambitious company.
