Hitting return now creates a new paragraph. If you just want a new line, SHIFT+Return Like that Select some text and you (should) get a 'quote this' pop-up. You can do this multiple times to create attributed and linked quotes. So there's is no excuse for quoting entire posts using the quote button I'm going to leave in place for now. If previously you had a different username and display name (not many did) you now only have a display name. Use it, or your email address, to log in. Whole new range of notification options. You can get notifications if you're quoted, given reputation, or followed (which replaces 'friends', and means you get a notification if the person you follow posts). Can we still use bbcode to link? We'll see. Edit - we can! Where's Imron! I miss Imron. Let's summon him. @imron! (depends on his notification settings what actually happens) Reputation system is now likes rather than upvotes, and is no longer anonymous. No more downvotes (it didn't get used that much, as we're all awesome. If someone's not being awesome, tell 'em) You can enable browser notifications so you get told about new content even if you don't have this tab open (you've probably seen this on other sites. You control this via your browser, not settings on here. Feels faster to me, but that might just be because I'm the only one in here at the moment (waiting for a bunch of post rebuilding to finish before I let you all in). Will also upgrade to PHP7 shortly which should also help. We don't have the same homepage we used to yet - I'll be putting that back together in the next day or two, hopefully, or at least once the core posting stuff is going ok. There's no longer a post preview, on the basis that we're not meant to be using BBCode anymore and you can use CTRL+B shortcuts for formatting. I'm not overly keen on this, but these are the times. Oh, admins can see a log of edits now - no more deleting your post and taking your ball home... Anything else? Might be useful for when folk want a double post quickly deleted. I think things are running a bit sluggishly at the moment, but there's a lot of background stuff going on while caches and indexes get rebuilt. Might be a few days before it's all done though - it needs to rebuild all the post content (create HTML out of the BBCODE / smilies), rebuild the search index, other stuff. The new equivalent page, even in 'condensed' view, shows also each instance of someone liking a topic and I wonder whether giving a line for each such notification there might end up clogging the page up once the forums are back up to full speed?
