Walking distance? Well it'd be easier to give you the walking distance in days rather than actual distance. It's really far.

As for the subway distance that's a bit easier. Wudaokou is only a few stops or about 20 minutes away from Huilongguan.

Hope this helps.

20 mins by subway + about half an hour walk from Wudaokou station to BLCU, and classes starting at 8. I wouldn't want it, but if you don't mind getting up early and living far away from the social life at campus, you can go and live there.

Wu Dao Kou station is only a 10 minute walk to BLCU or less depending on how fast you are. I think it took me like 5-8 mins from the gate by the Korean places. I don't know where the other station you mention is, but the subway is pretty efficient and cheap, and much much faster than the buses since it doesn't need to traverse the traffic on the roads.

I live in HuiLongGuan right now and travel to WuDaoKou every day for class. The subway ride is 15 minutes and you can make it to campus in 8-10 minutes, or 12 minutes if your taking your time.

HuiLongGuan is a nice part of town, the apt's are good and its relatively peaceful if thats what you are looking for. I'm living with a fam and its all good.

But I'll just warn you that the subway gets crazy full after 7am.

And if you want to go out to a bar downtown by SanLiTun Road or JianGuoMen Road, a taxi ride back at nite will run you 80-90RMB.

If you are just a student looking for a good time, I suggest getting a place in WuDaoKou. There are some pretty nice apt's there.
