(a country where the diploma is obtained). The seals and/or signatures are on the end of the section 7. Are you including the section 8 in your application materials (in notarized copy of diploma supplement and/or notarized translation of the same)? My application documents include: 1) notarized copy of the degree-1 page 2) notarized translation from Serbian into English of the degree-1 page 3) notarized copy of the transcript (diploma supplement)- 4 pages 4) notarized translation from Serbian into English of the transcript (diploma supplement)-4 pages 5) foreigner physical examination form+blood test report- 3 pages 6) two letters of recommendation-2 pages 7) study plan-1 page 8)copy of the abstract of the published researching paper (in English)-1 page 9) HSK Level V-2 pages 10) HSKK-1 page total: 20 pages I was awarded Certificate of Excellence in the main ceremony of the celebration of 10th Anniversary of establishing Confucius Institute in my country and I would like to include Certificate of Excellence stapled with the notarized translation from Serbian into English-2 pages. I just stopped by to wish you all the very best of luck... just started the winter holidays this week! The past few months have been extremely challenging for me! @adn223 - The CSC sends international students to universities that aren't that 'low-ranked'. So if you want a shot at getting a really good university, ask them for advice on the degree programme that they are trying to promote as opposed to trying to obtain placement at a crap university. The good universities have acceptable conditions and standards so please aim higher! Just contact your first choice university often and make sure they know that you are really trying hard. They love seeing effort. Recommendation letters are accepted from anyone, it is up to you if you feel it carries some weight. But a recommendation letter from an embassy is what they really want to see. That's how it is. @geometry - Yes the CSC should give you the allowance every single month until you graduate. @Voyager2014 - If you are applying for a Masters degree and you are currently in China finishing up a language course I suggest you approach your first choice university directly. If it is in Beijing, visit them. If it's far away from Beijing, call them. Do your best to get a pre-admissions notice from that university. Last year there were applicants who received an email response to their application, and the email congratulated them (almost immediately) on gaining acceptance into the programme. This is not a pre-admissions notice. A pre-admissions notice is an original document that has to be sent to you with the university's knowledge that you are applying for the CSC scholarship. The pre-admissions notice should also contain the university's red seal/stamp, stating your full name, with information that you have been accepted into the programme. If you fall short of the university's HSK requirement, they will usually still allow you into the programme if you talk to them and tell them that you are either sitting for the HSK this year (e.g. if it's after the application process), or if you are still waiting for your results, etc. Oh...and please talk to them in Chinese. If you do that, they will get a better idea of your Chinese level. @Xiaowei M - It isn't strict. In fact, when I read it last year on the application form I understood that it's 20 pages per item on the list, so I applied with over 50 pages (which includes education certificates, work documents, thesis and so on). Haha, I probably overdid it. But I got the scholarship so I guess what I did couldn't have been that bad. As far as I know, the scholarship council only identify certain documents (e.g. embassy or host university recommendations) and the host university goes through the rest of the documents. I also didn't upload anything online. The application documents should be handed to your host university or embassy and they are the ones with the authority to send your documents to CSC. As for the pre-admissions letter... do not submit the online application form just yet. First, contact the universities that you really want to be enrolled into. Convince all of them that they are your first-choice (some top universities will only accept you if they are your first choice!). You still have time, so contact them via phone or email. If you are in China right now, and your first-choice university is in the same city you're in then visit their International Students Office and ask them what documents you need to provide to them in order for you to gain a pre-admissions notice. If they are not being forthcoming (do not expect most Chinese universities to reply to emails as soon as they receive it!), be very persistent and chase them...but maintain calm and always be nice. Remember that the admissions officer is the person who can help you a lot, so don't lose your patience with them (last year we had a lot of people here losing their patience, haha). You have to mention that you are applying for the Chinese Government Scholarship in your country, so they will know how to proceed. Sorry - I forgot to add this: the reason why I am advising you not to submit the online application form just yet is because of the agency number on the form. The agency number has to be the agency who submits your documents to the CSC. So if it is the embassy in your country, then you put the embassy's agency number. If it is your first-choice university who will be submitting your documents to CSC then you have to use their agency number on the form. That's how it works. Last year when I applied, I sent numerous emails to many email addresses I found on the university's website. They never replied. Eventually I decided to take a more hands-on approach and called them. They told me they received all my emails (!) with my application documents, and they sent me a pre-admissions letter on the same day. When they spoke to me on the phone, they passed the phone to another lady who interviewed me then and there (to test my Chinese level). Your experience might be very different from mine, but I just wanted to share... in the event of an improv-intervew! @Anastasia - Yes, you can do MTCSOL in China even if your Bachelors degree is not the same. You can apply through the CSC/CGS because there is no language requirement (the CIS has a minimum HSK requirement). Is it allowed to apply separately for a program in Chinese and/or a program in English? My major is International Law. I have bachelor`s degree in INTERNATIONAL LAW and master`s degree in INTERNATIONAL LAW. I would like to apply for Master of Laws, Chinese language, 2 years and for International Law, English, 2 years, master. Is it allowed to apply separetely for 2 majors, but the same field-Law and the same level of studies-Master? International Law, English, duration: 2 years, master is offered just by two universities. From what I can tell, they are the ones who provide the agency number (essential to application), the forms, deadlines, and let you know what other documents to put in your application and where to send it. Can anyone help at all? Has anyone received a Chinese government scholarship from Australia? Any information would be much appreciated! You can apply directly to CUC for Chinese Government Scholarship-Chinese University Program. Is the program in English? I do want to learn Chinese as well. What is the lifestyle like in that University? Is it a good university for networking? That is why I want to apply for 1 prep year of Chinese + mtcsol. However, the universities require an hsk5 (yea I know getting that level in one year requires extreme motivation and learning + some universities replied that only lvl4 is needed) for this programme. As far as I understand you apply simultaneously for the university and for 1 year of chinese. Can the universities accept your application (through cgs) if you do not possess an hsk certificate at that moment? (you're supposed to get it in a year). Do you have any certificate of Chinese language course? If you have any certificate, I thik you should try to apply for pre-admission letter because applying for pre-admission letter will cost you less time and money and according to the results you will decide about the application for the scholarship and choose the university/universities you want to apply for.
