Hi friends,

I'm a Chinese teacher working in an international school in Singapore, and I'm working on a certificate of ACTFL OPI(American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language, Oral Proficiency Interview) Tester. So according to the requirement I will be conducting about 10 Oral Proficiency Interviews with some volunteers as part of my training to become a tester.

The purpose of this interview is to demonstrate volunteer's ability to assess the language speaking proficiency in standard Chinese, and the interview is being recorded and will last between 15 and 30 minutes. As this is a practice interview, it will not be scored with an Official ACTFL OPI rating, but I will be happy to provide you with some feedback on what you can and cannot do with language according to the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. Of cause I guaranty that all the information you give will be treated confidentially.

If you want to know how your Chinese proficiency is, please contact me, then we could schedule and conduct the interview via phone or other social media. All you need to do is give me 30mins when you are free and talk with me in Chinese.

My email address is below:

haorenkingva@sohu.com

Further more you could also leave me a message here and I'll reply you soon. Thanks a lot for all your support and help and wish you all the best in your Chinese learning!

Best regards

Just did my interview and it was great!  Xu Laoshi was very professional and spoke very clearly.  I'm always nervous when taking proficiency tests, but once the interview got going the interview time went by so fast.  I would definitely recommend anyone to participate to be a volunteer.

It started off easy with introductions, my background/interests, and then on to harder topics like role-playing, narration, current events, comparing/contrasting different viewpoints.  It was definitely getting hard at the end trying to discuss social and political issues.

She gave me her assessment and her thoughts about how to strengthen my weak areas.  I really appreciated the interview.
