Guys,After getting documents do we again need to do physical examination and apply for visa? After getting JW201 shall I again do PE to apply students Visa? If yes, do I need to do lab tests as well as or just the PE form is enough to submit to the embassy to grant me student Visa?

Thank you

You don't need it to apply for the student visa to go to China but once you arrive you will need to change this visa into a residence permit within the first 30 days of arriving. You will need the Physical examination form to do this, whether they will accept your physical examination form is hit and miss on the particular offices you apply at and how complete the form was originally. Take it with you, if they accept it great, if not you will need to do another physical examination in China.

Yeah i had a friend to applied with me to the MOFCOM scholarship, he just got the email confirming his scholarship from a University in Beijing.

I haven't received anything, so I guess thats it for me :(

Now that i remember, I made a terrible mistake.. when I filed up the application I forgot to write my email, i discovered that after sending the papers, so what I did is to correct the mistake in my e-application in laihua.com .

Maybe thats why I didn't get an email :P

That's not good. If you did not apply through embassy, do contact with International office of your university and ask them for your possible nomination for CSC. Normally, they want you to send them a physical examination test, if you have sent it before, there is a hope, but if not, sorry, your application wont be successful for CSC, but is still hope for being nomination for university's fund. Do not loose your hope and contact international office shortly.

As far as I'm aware you should get physical mail anyway so even if you don't see a list and even if you don't get an email, you should get an admission letter and scholarship award letter in the mail as you need to have them on your person when traveling to China

No need to worry until August 1st.. then perhaps start to worry.

So if I understood correctly what has been written before, as I have applied via the embassy in Poland, and I still haven't received any e-mail nor am I on the lists, there is still hope for me, and I sholudn't be panicing until 1st of August?

Well thats what Im hoping for! haha :)

Its funny, the guy who got the email yesterday sent a incomplete health report and sent some papers that wasnt asked for, also his chinese is not that good and he got it and not me , so my only hope is to think that every University has a different schedule. :)

Well one probably shouldn't panic no matter what. It is what it is is.. and a heart attack won't change it!

But at least August 1st because most sources say that we should all know by July 31st. If you don't hear by then, I'd recommend calling the embassy.

My school advised so far so good for me and they're getting my stuff together and asked me if I wanted a single dorm so they could reserve it (I asked to upgrade from the double with scholarship if I can pay the difference and was allowed to do so).

So good signs for me and I still don't have anything, emailed or mailed.

So.. meh. Mid July seems to be what the embassies say and it's not quite even there yet.

@dgenx where are you from? Since all embassies are different and some have different criteria, you cannot unfortunately compare yourself to someone unless you know you applied thru the same embassy. Some embassies are stricter than others, I believe.. and who knows how CSC chooses winners.. sometimes it seems arbitrary.. and I would bet money one's home country comes into play with politics in mind.

@DongLian

im from peru,, and yes im comparign to that guy cause we both applied for the MOFCOM scholarship , i told him about the scholarship lol, in my case i dont think the embassy has something to do  since its the minister of commerce of china.

so i guess I should just wait, but now im not holding too many hopes...

do you think I should write to Fudan to ask about the results or just wait?

Well if that guy is from Peru then perhaps it's comparable.. but different countries have different quotas and such.

Don't be too hopeful, but don't dismiss your chance yet. Stay levelheaded so no matter what you won't be too crushed now or later. :)

HAPPY THOUGHTS

@Hani: I got my nomination e-mail a very long time ago. On July 1, Fudan university posted their CSC recipients and I was in that list. I was just wondering if I should receive a separate e-mail about it or not. Is that not good that I have not? I am just curious if and when do I need to sign any documents concerning CSC scholarship and when do I get more information about it.

It's fine, Fudan still has scholarships to announce, be patient, you are a recipient. I am a recipient as well and haven't gotten an e-mail either. If you are on a list saying "YOU GOT A SCHOLARSHIP" then you got a scholarship.

If they need something from you they will contact you. Fudan is still posting scholarships (they did one on the 1st, one on the 3rd, one on the 6th, and they still have the Shanghai government ones to announce). It's quite possible they are waiting for all of the scholarship stuff to be announced before they start mailing stuff off or sending e-mails. If you are really worried, you can call the ISO and ask them.
