My CI recommended I sit HSK4 for applying for the scholarship, even though it says that only HSK3 is required. I think because they have a lot of applications they might look at the higher scores first?

@Chanii Congrats! The waiting is finally over :) I am sure I will see you in Fudan in September!

Hello, i applied for CIS back in april. My first choice was 北京语言. Middle of the june i got rejected, then my application transferred to Jilin University. Do anyone know anything about this college's language program quality? Its almost july and i still havent got my approval. Im starting to worry, what if jilin reject me as well?

@LinZhenPu Thanks!

@Hannahknolan

Thanks! Shall I contact the uni or the uni will contact me? And can I book the flight now or should I wait for my documents? And what are the procedures after that e.g. bank?

@Linzhenpu

That's what they told me on march too, that the minimum requirements were sufficient, but later when I applied they told me that "since january of this year 280 would be the unofficial minimum score" or something like that.

@skypirate @maryellis @Hannahknolan

I wish my CI told me about that i the beginning, before my HSK 3 they told me even 180 was enough for the 1 year scholarship, The other students from my CI who got more than 280 got the 1 year scholarship, although the went to the Parent University of my CI. Anyways I'm happy to got the 6 month scholarship, let's see if i can prolonged my stay there, past students form my CI have been able to get 6 more months, I hope I can get that.

Hello guys,

My status is 申请进度:“接收院校审核中”- 预录取 (意见:同意录取) and I have it from last week. As I see, when you have pre-admitted status, your application will be approved by Hanban in a one week, for example @Chanii already approved. I don't understand is there something wrong? I'm little bit worry, because I have the same status with my first choise Tianjin University, but after that they refused me, now I have the same status at my second choise Nanjing Normal University, and I'm still afraid that they can refuse me even after pre-admission status.

@Chanii - Fudan emailed me yesterday to say they were sending out the Acceptance Packages so hopefully we will get them next week. That will have all the details about start dates, registration, accommodation etc. so I think I will wait till I see when we have to register before I book my flights. I am not sure about banking, but I got a 6 month scholarship to Renmin Uni 2 years ago and they helped us set up the bank accounts so that we would get our money, so I hope Fudan will do the same!

@Saocir -  Yes I am lucky that my CI warned me, but I don't think it is fair to have HSK3 on the requirements but then actually expect students to have HSK4. Especially as most of us are going to China to learn more and might not even be able to pass HSK4 yet!

@pho

Yes. Opening a bank account was part of the enrollment process. It's one of the steps. The bank people will be there and you fill up these forms, and maybe they'll take your picture. Then either you get a card immediately or they tell you to come back to pick it up. The school chooses the bank.

@Astaa

When you receive your admission notice and jw202 in the mail, you school will write there when you are expected to arrive in the school. From what I know, the dorm check-in date starts a few days before actual enrollment. If you choose to arrive days ahead of the announced check-in date, then you will have to find your own accommodations at your expense.

@dcase479

2009-2010 in BLCU then 2010-2011 in Beijing Normal University. I was able to re-apply for another year. This is the CSC Scholarship, btw. If you want to know more bout this, visit to the CSC threads.

@Homaed7

This is a pretty complex problem and I will have to ask you more questions before I can answer fully. Is the Summer Camp also handled by the same Ci that recommended you for the scholarship? Also, where will the Summer Camp be held? I also handle the Summer Camp in this CI that I work for, so depending on the situation, I can offer advice.

@illia.kryhin

Waiting time is not necessarily one week. There is no fixed time. I had an applicant who was pre-admitted in just 2 days, but waited for a month to be finally awarded the scholarship.

I have the same status as yours. I guess we just have to wait for Hanban to admit us. I also think that we'll have had a status change by mid this month - in the best case scenario. The problem belies the fact that the number of students who are applying for the scholarships has grown exponentially over the years, especially this year. So maybe that explains the slow pace of processing the applications.

 BTW, is there any other person who is heading to Nanjing Normal Uni? hopefully. Please share your experience.  :wink:

@crisgee - i received the admissions packet in the mail (with visa forms etc) but it only included some small brochure which says that I have to be there on registration day 5th of september, but no info about how/when to get to the dorms. Hence all the questions :)
