One minute of speaking 说一分钟

The project I am starting now (inspired by Imron's  https://www.chinesethehardway.com/article/train-what-you-want-to-learn/  ) is to record myself speaking about a topic freely - no reading, no stopping/starting Audacity and no editing out mistakes. I may record several times to listen for mistakes i can catch myself and trying to improve on it, choosing the best of the lot to post. I will try first to speak for one minute and gradually increase it. My aim is to improve my fluency, speed, pronunciation, grammar and vocab speaking about a topic. That being, for me, the most difficult aspect of learning Chinese.

I am going to post these on my blog to motivate me to keep doing this activity and maybe get some useful feedback as well.  Although I realize listening to a Lower Intermediate level 老外 is not a joy - feel free to listen if you feel like it and give any kind of feedback if you like.

Here goes, topic #1 慢跑 / Jogging

Just put 'playback speed' on x5 and you'll be very very on point!

not bad, grammar and tones overall correct, just 2 suggestions

1) you used 所以 once as the English 'so' to start your sentence/introduce a new idea. 所以 is not used this way. Here you could use. 那 or 那么

2) the first few 慢跑 pronunciations were on point, but the ones after started to fall off. Keep that third tone strong!

I do readings a few times a week in my lang exchange we chat group. I'll read a few passages and get corrections from Chinese members in exchange for English pronunciation help. If you want in, pm me 👍

I agree totally. I speak Chinese way to slow. Thats part of my goal doing this is to try and get me speed increased and more natural. I doubt I'll hit 5x, but 1.5x is the goal for now.

只要一双运动鞋就可以了, the tone of 可以 here is the worst part in the whole record. You need to practice more "changing 3rd tone" samples.
