HSK levels and Practical Chinese Reader

You could try looking at one of the HSK wordlists and seeing how many of the characters you know, or looking at one of the HSK practice tests. That should give you a good idea.

You can find wordlists here, although they are in french. But if you know the characters that shouldn't matter, because you won't have to look at the definition.

The HSK starts from a very low level, so I'm sure you'd be able to pass something. I never used the PCR (I bought it, but it just looked so dull . . .) so can't tell you, but you could get Sample Papers, do a test and tell us how you fare . . .

If you let me know how many characters / hours of study you've covered, I'll look it up and tell you what level you should be.
