Can anyone explain these 2 versions of ping2

Recommended Posts

As a newbie i found different dots in ping2 in the word ping2 guo3 for apple.

Version 1:

Version 2:

Version 1 of ping2 appears in my Oxford dictionaries - books and PC program, in DeFrancis, in Xinhua xiezi zidian, in the online dictionary Zhongwen and with the programs eCode and eStroke.

Version 2 of ping2 appers in the online dictinaries: MDBG, Xiaoma Cidiani, Babelfish, Chinese Tools.

In the program DumSum program upom the PC entering ping2 gives version 2, while the Show Stroke Order utility of that program shows version 1.

Changing the encoding in IE from Simplied Chinese HZ, GB18030, GB2312 or Inicode UTF-8 gives in all cases the same character of ping2.

Please help my to resolve this problem.

Sorry, I don't understand what the problem is.

The two characters are the same to me. The only difference is the two dots, which look different because of probably different font types. In my handwriting sometimes I write like the 1st one, sometimes I write like the second one. It really doesn't matter.

Actually, apple is 蘋果 to me.
