confucius Posted March 23, 2004 at 07:41 PM Report Share Posted March 23, 2004 at 07:41 PM I suppose it's "Love Baby" (Ai Ying) or if she watches rugby on TV then it might be "Love England"

xxdnbd Posted March 24, 2004 at 11:18 AM Report Share Posted March 24, 2004 at 11:18 AM AE? I don't think it's Pinyin. Maybe it's "ai", not "AE"
tetsuo500 Posted March 24, 2004 at 12:10 PM Report Share Posted March 24, 2004 at 12:10 PM Kristoff - do you know what sort of tv programme she heard the name on? It could've been "Ai Ying"..... but if it was someone calling out to another person, couldn't it have just been "A-Ying!". Anyway, it's irrelevent what the actual name was on tv. You have the sounds "Ai Ying", now you can pick some characters to go with them! I read a newspaper article about a woman, in Eastern Europe (can't remember which country) who called her baby "Bin Laden". The news reporter asked her why she called the baby "Bin Laden". She just said she kept hearing it on the television, and thought it sounded nice....

skylee Posted March 24, 2004 at 02:08 PM Report Share Posted March 24, 2004 at 02:08 PM Yeah it is risky. I vaguely remember a story/joke of a mother naming her daughter "Syphilis" because she thinks it sounds nice.

Was that woman in Romania looking at another culture when she named her kid Benladen?
