峯 is a variant of 峰。It's not quite right to simply say that 峯 is fanti zi and 峰 is jianti zi. While 峰 is the accepted jianti form of the character, both 峰 and 峯have long been used in traditional texts and 峰 is in fact the accepted traditional form of the character today: a Google search of traditional Chinese webpages produces 564,000 hits on 峰 but only 1,900 on 峯.

(Interestingly, when I type 峯 in Notepad and paste it in, there's the full 4-stroke 丰 feng radical at the bottom but on preview I see that the font used for display here cuts off a stroke, even though the MS codepage is clear there should be four strokes there: another variant!)
