Any good travel agencies in Beijing?

Can anybody recommend any travel agencies in Beijing? I live in Beijing and would like to travel to Tibet (and maybe some other places) this summer.

you can't go to Tibet on your own. I also heard that recently they have been more strict about that.

I would prefer an English speaking tour, although Chinese might also be OK, since my wife is Chinese. Last year we went on a (Chinese speaking) tour to Yunnan, which was organized by one of the travel agencies that have an office in the big Chinese language universities. Unfortunately, the tour was pretty bad: The hotels were borderline acceptable, the food was very bad (I got sick), and we had to visit about 3 jade shops every day, which was a total waste of time. Four years earlier I went on an (English speaking) 2 week tour of China which originated in the US, was not expensive, and was 10 times better (hotels and food were great, and we visited a lot less jade shops).

In any case, I would like the tour to originate from Beijing, or at least be able to book it from Beijing.

Thanks in advance.

If you are basing this on my comments, please note that they were in regards to entering Tibet from outside of China (Nepal). My understanding is that it is little hassle to visit Tibet if you're already in China. But things may change of course so make sure you do your research.

i dont know about agencies in beijing, but i was in chengdu last summer and the hostel i stayed at arranged trips to tibet. so, if u happen to be travelling thru chengdu first, that seems to be an easy place to go to tibet from.
