Mugi Posted July 30, 2007 at 07:01 AM Report Share Posted July 30, 2007 at 07:01 AM Also see the Fuzhou Dialect Wikipedia For what it's worth, Fuzhou Dialect is notoriously difficult to learn, even for native speakers of related dialects such as Minnan. Tone sandhi is extremely complex. And on top of that, consonants and vowels can change depending on the syllable combinations. Would definitely be worth learning some if you're going to live there, but you should have realistic expectations about what you can achieve - Fuzhouhua makes Minnanhua look easy and Mandarin like absolute child's play!
