According to my understanding 成就 refers to a massive success. Something worked hard for and took a lot of time. My professor that has several books published, 600+ papers, and won many awards for them has 成就, whereas me succeeding on a test is anything but 成就. So things like a nobel prize would be 成就. 成功 just is a general word and can be used in pretty much any situation.

At first, "成就" is only a noun means "achievment",but "成功" can be used as a noun or a verb.for example:你成功了(v.)?成功乃失败之母(n.)

Also this -> http://140.111.34.46/cgi-bin/dict/GetContent.cgi?Database=dict&DocNum=116490&GraphicWord=yes&QueryString=成就

完成、造就。漢書˙卷五十四˙蘇建傳:武父子亡功德,皆為陛下所成就。儒林外史˙第二十一回:而今多虧了你這外公公替你成就了親事,你已是有了房屋了。

And this -> http://www.baidu.com/baidu?ie=gb2312&ct=1048576&cl=3&word=%B3%C9%BE%CD+
