please, if new posts quote or follow from the development of previous posts within the same thread, let them stay in the same thread. it's kinda weird to start a new topic to reply to and quote from posts in another topic.

I see your point, and sometimes it can be a little confusing.

However, it's a lot more confusing to have a thread with the title 'Characters and Phonetic Writing systems' which discusses character input methods, reasons for learning Chinese characters, chopsticks, etc.

It's particularly a problem for those who are new to the board and trying to find specific information.

I think that chinese characters are better becuase they look nicer, here in the west when you can write chinese people think it's cool and stuff!
