muyongshi Posted November 4, 2007 at 02:35 PM Author Report Share Posted November 4, 2007 at 02:35 PM What is F5 do???? Talking to a mac user here
imron Posted November 4, 2007 at 03:50 PM Report Share Posted November 4, 2007 at 03:50 PM If you're using firefox, f5 does the same on a mac as it does on windows - it reloads the page. So basically if you get a database error, don't sit there pressing refresh until everything works, but go and have a coffee or something and when you get back everything should be back to normal. ipsi() Posted April 1, 2008 at 04:10 AM Report Share Posted April 1, 2008 at 04:10 AM http://www.chinese-forums.com/forums.php is giving me a Database Error when trying to load it. Weirdly, this page, and the front page both work fine. In fact, everywhere works fine except the main Forum Page... e.g. going to http://www.chinese-forums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4 works just fine... The full text is: Database error The database has encountered a problem. Any ideas Roddy?

roddy Posted April 1, 2008 at 05:29 AM Report Share Posted April 1, 2008 at 05:29 AM Yeah, something odd happened this morning - looks like the server backed itself up four time in quick succession.
roddy Posted May 22, 2008 at 03:07 PM Report Share Posted May 22, 2008 at 03:07 PM Server is hiccuping repeatedly - I've done what I can on my end and have dropped a line to the hosting company.
roddy Posted June 3, 2008 at 02:14 AM Report Share Posted June 3, 2008 at 02:14 AM Just had a few hours of downtime caused by the regular back-up process stalling. This isn't the first time this has happened, so I'm going to cancel the scheduling and run back-ups manually when I'm able to babysit it and make sure it does what it's meant to . . . Apologies for any disappointment, anger, or mental damage.
roddy Posted May 27, 2009 at 04:29 PM Report Share Posted May 27, 2009 at 04:29 PM Getting repeated errors at the moment, apologies for any annoyance caused. I've had a quick look and there are a couple of things I might be able to do to help, but as it's past midnight and a beer or two has been consumed I'm going to let you suffer for now . . . roddy Posted June 26, 2009 at 07:12 AM Report Share Posted June 26, 2009 at 07:12 AM May have noticed some errors over the last few hours - the server got hold of a database table and wouldn't let go. All seems to be well now, apologies for any annoyance.
