I wonder why PlecoDict's ABC / Oxford dictionaries

are unwilling to define 晟; seems a common enough

character ...

晟 [shèng] light; grand [Wenlin/ABC]

晟 [shèng] brightness of sun; splendor [Cedict]


晟 [Chéng] 姓; surname (现代汉语词典 2002 ed.)

... although this thread shows there's some confusion

about its usage:

Q: 这个字念什么?



A: 晟字有两个读音。一个念cheng二声,是姓。一个念

Makes me wonder if somewhere in China there's someone named Cheng2 Sheng4, 晟晟. He'd constantly have to explain his name and its pronounciation, but a cool name it would be...
