She said "....真係陰功", meaning "that's really terrible"

"Lai" means to "arrest"

at 3:03 she says 冇la冇lan or something like that. is that a standard expression?

Went a bit fast for me, didn't get it.

at 7:03 she says 'za人錢'for '欠錢'. can i see the character w the correct pronounciation

'za人錢' means "owe someone money", with '欠錢' being the "written Chinese form. Actually, in Cantonese, should've been "爭人錢" pronounced "zaang", but often said as 'za", in lazy Cantonese.

at 7:33, she says '乜你 outs。xx 說話' What is outs and xx?

She said "乜你甘多事" or "why are you so nosy", with 多 pronounced as "or", in "lazy Cantonese", or the way it's pronounced in Taishan.

Didn't quite get "xx".

That's what I got so far, jot it down before I lose it, and I'll get to the rest when I have a few more minutes.

I can't view the clips at my current workstation. But "la lang" means 關係. "冇la冇lan" means 沒有關係.

"'outs", as in outdated. She's saying the male detective is outdated in thinking at men can't sell cosmetics.

at 8:24, she 我kookoo...what is kookoo?

"我个个礼拜", literally: "I every weekend"

I think this series is very enjoyable. But the clips are all with proper subtitles. Can't you read them?

at 2:50. He says lai佢啊。。 what is lai?

lai = 拉 = arrest

at 3:03 she says 冇la冇lan or something like that. is that a standard expression?

As answered in my #3. It is a common expression.

at 7:03 she says 'za人錢'for '欠錢'. can i see the character w the correct pronounciation

As explained in #2.

at 7:33, she says '乜你 outs。xx 說話' What is outs and xx?

What she says is "乜你咁 out o架。話時話你真係要保養吓。" "out" = out-dated, out of fashion. 話時話 = by the way, talking of which.

at 8:24, she 我kookoo...what is kookoo?

As explained in #4.

at 0:55 he says 'sap si....'. meaning?

He says, "霎時打個電話上來,話上來就上來。" "霎時" = suddenly, out of the blue, it exists in Mandarin too. The whole sentence means, "Suddenly she gave me a call saying she's coming up and then she was right at my door."

at 1:04 he says 'chi cho le'. what does tt mean?

'chi cho le' = 遲早呢 = sooner or later

at 1:10 is she saying ‘殺嗰仔pei我..'?

She says, "塞個仔畀我", meaning leaving the boy to her care. "塞" indicates that it is against her wish.

at 1:35, he says '甘low-wor' What does low mean?

It is "金勞喎" ~ hey it is a golden Rolex. "金勞" can be used to refer to expensive watches generally.

at 1:52, he says ‘喂 madam 唔係甘chung甘得loy都當xxcha’. Can i see a transcription if possible

The line is "喂, madam, 唔係鐘撳得耐都當係賊,係嗎?"

If you read the subtitles, you will get the meaning of the dialogues.

Thank you very much people. I do recommend this show whilst it's still easily accesible via streaming!

Yes I can read the subtitles and know the meaning.

It's just that I want to pick out the colloquial words which aren't displayed in the subtitles. Sharpens my listening skills and my general knowledge.

Wish I can do this with minnanhua but that's gonna be much harder.

skylee姐姐,差人钱个"撑"字同”争“字点写呀?

I have no idea. I spent some time thinking about this yesterday. I think it could be just "差". It is pronounced a bit differently but the meaning is "差". The same for "dollar". It is pronounced as "蚊", but actually it should be "文".

But these are just my views.

This website says it is simply "爭" -> http://win2003.chi.cuhk.edu.hk/hanyu/chetio.asp?chetio=5887
