Taiwanese Hokkien slang-"firecracker"

Recommended Posts

I'm interested in Taiwanese Hokkien youth, street and college slang and I am working on a project.

What are Taiwanese Hokkien slang terms and expressions for "firecracker"?

A "firecracker" is a lively, energetic person.

I was told "firecracker" in Taiwanese is 暴躁 bao4 zao4

Is there someone here who speaks Taiwanese who can please help me out?

Please let me know and please list as many Taiwanese slang terms as possible. Thank you.

爆竹,鞭炮 are ways to say "firecracker" in Taiwanese Mandarin.

As you may know, the official language spoken in Taiwan is Mandarin. 暴躁 bao4 zao4 is

Mandarin, not Taiwanese (Hokkien). I'm afraid I still can't help you with the Taiwanese.

Good luck.

Someone said:

However, firecracker is 炮竹 in Chinese, and in Hokkien dialect, some call it 火炮(hui1 pao4 - Hokkien), which sounds similar to 火暴. could be mistaken identity. 火暴脾气 is used to describe a hot tempered person as well.

Are there any other Taiwanese terms for firecracker I can use?
