"wo yao de xing fu"

I have a question. The Sun Yan Zi song "wo yao de xing fu" (我要的幸福)...I know the title means "I want blessings (or blessedness, or another synonym thereof)," but why is it not just titled (and subsequently sung) "wo yao xing fu"?

Is the "de" necessary to convey this thought, or is that more of a poetic expression of the thought thrown in to fit the rhythm of the song?

Thanks!

我(所)要的幸福 means "The happiness that I want" and is a noun phrase rather than a complete sentence (the 所 is optional).

我要幸福 means "I want happiness" and is a complete sentence.
