Hi, I'm from Tianjin! And welcome to our city!

Pertaining your question, I know that Nankai University has a Chinese program and supposedly is the best in the city.

And you can probably check out this forum to join a community with people having similar background as yours:

I hope that you'll like it here!

Welcome to Tianjin.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Tianjin Language Institute", exactly. There is the Foreign Language University, many private language schools, and the other big universities, (Nankai, Tianjin University, Tianjin Normal University, etc), generally have pretty decent language programs.

There's a list of some of the bigger schools here:

I also think the school listed here is pretty good:

I went there for a year, and although it the teacher's can sometimes be annoying with their "Westerners are like this because b.s. b.s. b.s.", you can learn quite a bit, and tuition is cheap for the amount of instruction you receive. (Disclaimer: My wife works for the school. If people think that shouldn't be posted here, let me know and I'll take it out)

Generally speaking, we don't mind if you post about a school/business/website that you have a connection with, so long as you mention that connection in your post. This provides transparency for readers and allows them to make up their own mind whether or not you have an agenda. Failure to do so may result in mockery when we find out.
