There seems to be a suspiciously wide range of prices for housing, from 2000 to 10000+ for a 2BR apartment in the city. I've contacted a few property agencies and they've told me a 2BR in Changning/Jingan costs at least 5000 a month, but on sites like loushi.com and souwoo.com I've found decent-seeming places (e.g. http://shanghai.souwoo.com/house/view/4489418/ ; some offerings are even accompanied by a "pledge" against fake listings) for 2000-3000. Can anyone tell me whether it's even possible to get a decent 2BR for 3000ish close to the metro in Shanghai? Or are these scams? Thanks!
