valikor Posted March 22, 2010 at 09:05 AM Report Share Posted March 22, 2010 at 09:05 AM (edited) Hi folks, The stickies here only provide info on a few schools, but there are dozens in Beijing that teach Chinese to foreigners. I was doing my own personal research and thought I would post my current list here. ------------------------------- Jiaotong University http://www.njtu.edu.cn/jg/jgws/content/intstu.htm 9000 semester Beijing Institute of Technology http://isc.bit.edu.cn/show.aspx?id=95&cid=50 8200 semester University of Science and Technology http://oice.ustb.edu.cn/en/internationalstudents.asp Beijing Normal University http://www.bnulxsh.com/jieshao/1009jinxiushengbanfa.htm 11600 semester Beihang http://is.buaa.edu.cn/eng/chinese.asp 8400 semester UIBE http://www.uibe.cn/english/fxmjs.html (20 hours) http://www.uibe.cn/english/fxmjs2.html (30 hours a week) 9900 first semester, 9100 subsequently Remnin University http://sicclc.ruc.edu.cn/en/101133/20741.html http://iso.ruc.edu.cn/jianzhang/english.htm (short and long term programs) one year 21500 Beijing International Studies University http://www.bisu.edu.cn/Item/19354.aspx (short and long term programs) 1 semester 15000 Communications University of China http://hanyuan.cuc.edu.cn/applicationintereng3.html Capital Institute of Physical Education http://www.cipe.net.cn/cenweb/website/$cmsinfo/ABC00000000000014461.html (The program is apparently very small, which some people might like) Beijing Language and Culture University bclu.edu Obviously the most well known, and discussed elsewhere China foreign Affairs University http://www.cfau.edu.cn/mainweb/dwjl/content.php?topicid=MDAxMDA1MDAy&contentid=MTMz 9000 semester College of International Education http://study.ciecnu.cn/En/index.asp 32 hours a week, 16000 semester Note: I didn't thoroughly research every one of these. The prices quoted are for full semester programs. Many of these schools may have short-term programs, even if I did not indicate this. The links are primarily for people to do their own research. Hope this is helpful to someone at some point! David Edited March 22, 2010 at 09:51 AM by valikor
gavin1084 Posted March 23, 2010 at 03:01 PM Report Share Posted March 23, 2010 at 03:01 PM Are the prices you listed in USD or RMB? There's also the University of International Relations (UIR) www.uir-cie.com/home_en.htm Prices with accomodations in RMB: 1 semester (20 hours a week 11900, 30 hours a week 19450) 1 year 23800
valikor Posted March 23, 2010 at 04:10 PM Author Report Share Posted March 23, 2010 at 04:10 PM All the prices are in RMB. 11900 for tuition and accommodation? Or am I reading that wrong? Sounds very cheap. I'd be interested to find out if any of these schools are hidden gems.
gavin1084 Posted March 23, 2010 at 05:02 PM Report Share Posted March 23, 2010 at 05:02 PM Oh sorry! The tuition is 11900, with accomodations it is: 1 semester (20 hours): 25250 1 semester intensive (30 hours): 32800 1 year: 50725 They also have 1-12 week programs that seem pretty cheap. I'm looking into the 12 week regular, which comes to right around $2500 (USD) WITH accomodations, which to me seems not bad. Is that decent? From what I could tell, it was on the lower end and includes insurance and visa assistance. Anyone been there? I've read the posts that are up already, looks pretty good.
