crazillo Posted April 17, 2010 at 11:41 AM Report Share Posted April 17, 2010 at 11:41 AM This is the textbook we've been using the last semester: http://www.amazon.com/Connections-text-workbook-Textbook-Workbook/dp/025321663X/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1271503633&sr=1-7 There's Connections I and II on the market, we only finished Connections I. I have searched for threads dealing with this textbook on this board, however nobody seems to have mentioned Connections before. While it does have some weaknesses, I still liked it much better than our first three Chinese books (a very old version of Hanyu Chuji Jiaocheng). Each unit consists of vocabulary introduction, texts (mostly letters), dialogues, grammar focus and cultural background. A workbook is also supplied. Audio material is available. All in all, I liked the book quite a lot, although it was a little too easy. Many 生词 were not so new at all. Did anyone else use those textbooks? What are your experiences like? woliveri Posted August 29, 2010 at 10:06 PM Report Share Posted August 29, 2010 at 10:06 PM Actually, I've mentioned them before. I have Interactions I & II and Connections I & II. Just wish they went further but I really like them a lot. Just wish they'd go at least one level higher.
