I did find one site with a similar description of the story this time entitled 烂柯忘归. I would really like to find the original text, can someone help me please? The story, as I understand it, concerns a man who lives in a village at the base of a mountain. He sets out on a lovely autumn day to cut fire wood in the mountain. He sees and stays to watch two immortals play chess. When the game is finished, he finds his axe handle has rotted-away and the axe-head is rusted.
