HashiriKata Posted September 25, 2004 at 01:41 PM Report Share Posted September 25, 2004 at 01:41 PM Hi everyone! This is my first post and I'm very pleased to have found this wonderful site. I'm fairly new in learning Chinese (mostly self-taught) and here is my question: I came across this sentence from a love song: 只要你真心拿爱与我回应,我什么都愿意。 Although I understand the meaning ok but I'm not sure of the structure in 拿爱与我回应. Does it mean "(If you sincerely) respond to me with love" ? and can someone also please try rephrasing this sentence (in Chinese) so that I understand this structure better? I think I'm bothered by the 与 as used here, probably. Many thank in advance, HK
skylee Posted September 25, 2004 at 01:54 PM Report Share Posted September 25, 2004 at 01:54 PM 只要你真心以愛回應我 ... Sometimes to match the melody, some lyrics are not 100% grammatically correct.
HashiriKata Posted September 25, 2004 at 02:48 PM Author Report Share Posted September 25, 2004 at 02:48 PM Thank you for replying with a very nice rephrasing, skylee! From your reply, I also take it that there's something not 100% grammatical/usual in the original? If this is so, my question has been answered. xiaomawang Posted September 25, 2004 at 03:05 PM Report Share Posted September 25, 2004 at 03:05 PM 只要你真心拿爱与我回应,我什么都愿意。 与我 also as your original understanding as 'with me'. The '与我' can be '和我'. For example, '你拿(=用)什么和(=与)我交换?'. This is also commonly used in Chinese.
