New Members renneb Posted August 24, 2010 at 11:44 PM New Members Report Posted August 24, 2010 at 11:44 PM I got this tattoo 13 years ago when I was 17 years old. Its pretty blurry, and I am all but positive by now that it means nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Its kind of embarrassing to admit, but when i got this tattoo i was told that it meant, "Fear not death, but life". Help Please!! Quote
jbradfor Posted August 29, 2010 at 03:53 AM Report Posted August 29, 2010 at 03:53 AM Ah, to be 17 and stupid again... I miss those days... It does vaguely look like it might be Chinese, but I can't make it out. Help? Quote
Glenn Posted August 29, 2010 at 04:35 AM Report Posted August 29, 2010 at 04:35 AM Looks to me like the middle three are 田の女, and I can't make out the two on the ends enough to even guess at. No guarantees that I'm right about the middle three, either (well, 女 seems fairly obvious, anyway). Quote
Erbse Posted August 29, 2010 at 01:45 PM Report Posted August 29, 2010 at 01:45 PM well, 女 seems fairly obvious, anyway Maybe 文 ? Quote
aristotle1990 Posted August 29, 2010 at 01:57 PM Report Posted August 29, 2010 at 01:57 PM Looks like 火田?文? -- means something like "fire, field, ?, language, ?". The thing in the middle might be some sort of symbol, not a character, and the one on the end? Maybe 吾? Quote
roddy Posted August 29, 2010 at 02:01 PM Report Posted August 29, 2010 at 02:01 PM Any chance of a shave and a better photo? Can't see that it's going to come out meaning what it's meant to though. Quote
ma3zi1 Posted August 29, 2010 at 03:39 PM Report Posted August 29, 2010 at 03:39 PM At really close up, I see: 犬田己文喜 (where 己 is upside-down and inverted) But that still means nothing to me... Quote
Glenn Posted August 29, 2010 at 04:41 PM Report Posted August 29, 2010 at 04:41 PM Alright, so maybe 女 wasn't so obvious. After looking at it again, it does look like 文. I still don't get it. I think roddy's suggestion of a shave and better photo is the way to go here. Quote
