My father received this knife in 1958 from a random stranger he helped. We don't know anything about the knife other than it looks like it might be ivory. The knife itself is about 5 1/2" in its sheath. The blade is approx. 3 3/4" long. There is etching on the sheath of what looks to be men with flags in their hands. They almost look as if they are flying. I wish I could get better pictures of this knife. The one photo shows the etching on the blade. I would loe to know what this translates to so as I can maybe find out more about the knife. Thank you. If you can help me, please

I would advise better pictures. Unfortunatley there is nothing visible on the ones you have that is writing or even pictures. Shelley

Nowadays, people in china read or write characters from left to right, but many years ago, they write from right to left, so these characters are "钢刀王". The quality of the knife which has this brand is great.

Thanks everyone. This actually showed me a little bit about the knife. Now I just have to try to find someone who can possibly appraise this for me. Thanks again everyone.
