Mandarin Chinese Tone Practice

For the beginners out there I've just shared/uploaded an Anki deck based on the Sinosplice Tone Pair Drills (found here and discussed here) which can be downloaded as a shared deck on the Anki desktop client through File> Download> Shared Deck... Just search for "Mandarin Chinese Tone Practice" and download to go.

Not wanting to expand too much upon what is said on Sinosplice (or get too much into the debate of the use of the technique!), the idea is that listening to and repeating after native pronunciation of individual tones can help improve them - and doing so for pairs of tones that are closer to real speech is even better.

While not strictly SRS in that the cards aren't intended to be read once each time (repetition here is the key) and left for months before returning to (just whenever you want to focus purely on tones) I find it useful to do this within Anki to make use of the easy format of repeating a single audio file while looking at the tone/pinyin/definition as you wish etc.

This was a deck I made a while ago and use occasionally when I feel my tones have become lazy due to lack of specific focus, such as just now!

I hope this will be of use to someone!

Note: If you're an absolute beginner I suggest you read more of the above linked article and do some searches through this forum for Anki.
