bhchao 24 Report post Posted February 12, 2012 I am shocked. Any fans of Whitney here? I know her personal life was a mess, that she married the wrong man, and that drugs destroyed her voice and career. But there's no denying that she had a great voice and singing ability that could inspire. The same can be said of Michael Jackson. Why do these great talents die so young? During the 80s, I remember listening to her Greatest Love of All so many times on the radio. I am very old school Some of her biggest hits from the 1980s: http://www.youtube.c...wK9XtPBI]Saving All My Love For You at Once ]I Wanna Dance with SomebodyOne Moment in Time Her hits from the 1990s: http://www.youtube.c...v=8QaI-M9sxW4]I Will Always Love You Have Nothing Every Womanhttp://www.youtube.c...h9rCobRl-ng]Run To You

skylee 1,912 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 Many people with great talents live / lived a long life - Stephen Hawking, Michaelangelo, etc. As many as those who died young I guess. It is just that people tend to remember those who died young better. Perhaps we can't generalise too much.

wushijiao 162 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 I was fairly shocked to hear of her death, and remarkably saddened (even though I wouldn't consider myself a fan). I guess her songs reminded me a lot of random times growing up. Her version of the National Anthem is probably my favorite of all time.
