Mactuary Posted April 14, 2012 at 02:04 AM Report Share Posted April 14, 2012 at 02:04 AM Hello fellow forumers, Please send me the link to an existing thread, if it exists. I am studying in HIT, Harbin Institute of Technology as a general scholar studying Mandarin. I've been granted one year of full scholarship due to expire in January 2013. 1. I wonder if it's possible to extend this CSC scholarship. 2. Would it be possible to move to another school in another city? (BLCU perhaps) If only to 扩大生活阅历. I have not yet decided whether or not I want to spend another year in China. But my experience so far has been very good. Also I wonder what sort of level of Chinese I could attain after studying for one year. Would it be worth spending another year studying the language? Perhaps I would have enough skill to self study, listen/read to news/books in Chinese and talking to local Mandarin speakers. At HIT the level is from A (most basic) to H (most advanced), I am at the C+ level, which I think is roughly equivalent to level 4 HSK, since many of my classmates are taking that level HSK test this Saturday. I still have to go back to Sydney to finish my master's degree, but at my uni it is possible to take a leave of absence for two years, so it's not a big deal. Thanks for your help. roddy Posted April 17, 2012 at 01:26 PM Report Share Posted April 17, 2012 at 01:26 PM Folks, I've split topics on HIT off to here as there was good info I wanted to make easier to find, and the more general discussion of Harbin stuff to here. Apologies for the cheese-moving, but it was getting pretty distant from CSC scholarship extensions (which might be best asked in one of the existing CSC topics).
