Lu Posted June 6, 2014 at 10:10 PM Report Posted June 6, 2014 at 10:10 PM So how does 去你 fit in there? Short for 去你妈 -> 肏你妈? I don't think 肏你 is a usual swearword. Quote
Demonic_Duck Posted June 7, 2014 at 05:10 AM Author Report Posted June 7, 2014 at 05:10 AM No, you're right. 我去,我日,我操,我靠 etc. are all just permutations of the same thing. Well sure, but you could equally say "oh fuck", "oh shit", "oh fudge" and "oh fiddlesticks" are permutations of the same thing. I'd say “我操” and “我日” both literally mean the same (to be honest I've never actually heard the latter, living in Beijing), whilst “我靠” is closer to the "oh fudge" kind (well, maybe more like "oh crap", as young people would use it unironically). As for “我去”, I'm really not too sure. Do you have a source that it literally means "fuck" in some circumstances? I don't think this would be necessary for “去你妈(的)” to be very offensive. Consider English "go to hell", "go fuck yourself", and Russian "пошёл на хуй" (literally "go to the dick"). Quote
陳德聰 Posted June 7, 2014 at 08:24 AM Report Posted June 7, 2014 at 08:24 AM 去你妈(逼) shows it means the same thing... it's not accurate to try to separate them as if they don't all mean essentially the "f" word or an euphemistic version. Just like "heck" means "hell" but just not so bad. Quote
Guest realmayo Posted June 7, 2014 at 09:31 AM Report Posted June 7, 2014 at 09:31 AM I'd thought that for ~你妈 you can replace the ~ with: 去 just the same as 狗、日、操 etc etc. So: 去 here is just as offensive as the others. Gosh, I even remember being a bit embarassed years and years ago because I'd assumed that the 去 meant something like 'go to your mum' or something, that it wasn't as explicit as 日 etc, but I was quickly informed that it was just as vulgar.
