Pickley Posted June 5, 2014 at 12:36 PM Report Posted June 5, 2014 at 12:36 PM This is honestly the best software to use to improve your Chinese speaking and listening. I've been using YY on and off for 2 years, listening to Chinese people learn English and teaching them myself. I've also started a Chinese for foreigners 对外汉语 class, where anyone can participate, it's like a live online classroom. Watch my lesson video for more info, and how to download and join the channel and our lessons!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqciXjp3BTw Quote
陳德聰 Posted June 5, 2014 at 12:41 PM Report Posted June 5, 2014 at 12:41 PM I think you should invest in a higher quality microphone, or at least position it slightly further from your mouth. 1 Quote
Shelley Posted June 5, 2014 at 02:25 PM Report Posted June 5, 2014 at 02:25 PM This is honestly the worst audio I have heard on a language learning site/video for a long time. It is over modulated (distorted), the volume changes from very quiet to overly loud. I have not bothered to check out the website because i don't hold out any hope of it being better, because if you don't care enough to get it right on your demonstration/advertising then why would you have bothered on the web site. I may be wrong about the website but I am not going to increase their footfall just to find out. Good try, but serious fail on audio quality. Quote
Pickley Posted June 5, 2014 at 02:40 PM Author Report Posted June 5, 2014 at 02:40 PM It's not a website. It's a piece of software used for talking and in online classroom learning. The intention is to show people what you can use the software for! I'll get a better mic for next time. Quote
roddy Posted June 5, 2014 at 02:50 PM Report Posted June 5, 2014 at 02:50 PM Unless I'm much mistaken, some of the problem is over-compression of the audio, it's not just the mic. Pickley, where's the advantage of YY.com over, say, Skype, or Youtube, or QQ? Compare it favourably to something people will know. 1 Quote
Shelley Posted June 5, 2014 at 03:25 PM Report Posted June 5, 2014 at 03:25 PM I understood from the you tube video that you had o go to a website to sign/join the classes, that's what I meant. Quote
Pickley Posted June 7, 2014 at 04:20 AM Author Report Posted June 7, 2014 at 04:20 AM @Roddy It has built in classroom software for learning, there are people on 24/7 and you can get chatting right away. Quote
