Solarin Posted June 15, 2014 at 05:08 PM Report Share Posted June 15, 2014 at 05:08 PM So I'd love to read more books in Chinese, especially novels that teach me more about modern China, but I'm worried about reading a book where X percent of its vocabulary isn't used anymore. I plan on reviewing vocab I'm not familiar with, so I just want to be sure I'm making a good use of my time. This happens to be the book I'm currently reading. I think it would be a good choice. It is not too difficult, and it portrays the current urban Chinese milieu (such as housing bubbles, mistresses, official corruption) as well as people's mentality.
