Shelley Posted July 11, 2014 at 04:24 PM Report Share Posted July 11, 2014 at 04:24 PM Not sure how common these are in England. One is being offered for sale in one of my local charity shops for £150.00. Is this a good price? Is there anything to look out for when buying a second hand one of these? I don' t think its for me but if anyone is interested I could PM details.

Shelley Posted July 11, 2014 at 09:15 PM Author Report Share Posted July 11, 2014 at 09:15 PM Thanks for link but it looks like they are new and I have no idea how the currency compares for new and secondhand items. Also my Chinese is not good enough to work all the things on the page. As usual for me, Chinese web pages seem crammed with writing, pictures and flashing things. Basil Posted July 12, 2014 at 06:47 AM Report Share Posted July 12, 2014 at 06:47 AM I wouldn't worry too much about it. You'd not even need to have a grasp of how much theses things are usually worth, but you'd need to be an expert at examining the item that is currently on sale. There's a decent chance it's currently overpriced, a smaller chance it's underpriced. My 2 cents.
ZoxGuo Posted July 12, 2014 at 08:45 AM Report Share Posted July 12, 2014 at 08:45 AM I think how much a Gu Zheng cost depend on how old it is, I'm not sure, but according to this website, all-new one almost have same price with second-hand one, and the most expensive one is about RMB2000,2000/8.439 = 236.99490460955 ≈237 euros, so it's a little expensive for a second-hand Gu Zheng. Eh, I mean, if you have a chance to meet some Chinese exchange student, you can ask them to buy a new one for you when they go back to home during the holiday or festival.
