Hamad1 Posted November 16, 2015 at 10:49 PM Report Share Posted November 16, 2015 at 10:49 PM I have received an offer for a postdoctoral position in China. The university has told me that I should apply for X1 visa. However, this postdoctoral position is a paid position. I am not sure if a person receiving a stipend/fellowship/scholarship is considered as receiving a salary (in this case the visa should be Z-visa as one cannot receive a salary while on X visa). Can anyone give me some advice or has someone been through this situation before? I do not want to go there only to find later that I was breaking some rules on receiving a monthly pay on X1 visa. stapler Posted November 17, 2015 at 07:47 PM Report Share Posted November 17, 2015 at 07:47 PM Why not just message the university/institution you're going to be working at?
