Kenny同志 Posted December 20, 2015 at 09:29 PM Report Share Posted December 20, 2015 at 09:29 PM Hello folks, Is there an English equivalent of the term 研究内容 (used as a heading in a research paper)? Thanks.
Flickserve Posted December 21, 2015 at 02:47 AM Report Share Posted December 21, 2015 at 02:47 AM Sticking my neck out here but this seems to be a very non-descriptive type of term on its own for a title of a paper in English. I think it probably is best translated in context of the whole research paper. For instance, is it a review or primary research?
TheBigZaboon Posted December 21, 2015 at 02:54 AM Report Share Posted December 21, 2015 at 02:54 AM Kenny, It might depend on whether the section discusses the approach or the results. For example: Approach: Research Methodology, or Scope of the Project, Results: Research results, or Conclusions, something like that. In other situations, maybe Sources... Without more background, though, these are just suggestions. TBZ
gato Posted December 21, 2015 at 03:40 AM Report Share Posted December 21, 2015 at 03:40 AM See below for typical section headings for an international scientific journal article: http://abacus.bates.edu/~ganderso/biology/resources/writing/HTWsections.html The Structure, Format, Content, and Style of a Journal-Style Scientific Paper http://www.sciencemag.org/site/feature/contribinfo/prep/prep_init.xhtml Please indicate the main sections of your paper with headings followed by a colon: Title:, Authors:, Affiliations:, Abstract:, Main Text:, References:, Acknowledgments:, Figure #:, Table #:, and Supplementary Material.
Kenny同志 Posted December 21, 2015 at 05:42 AM Author Report Share Posted December 21, 2015 at 05:42 AM Thanks for your help, Flickserve, TBZ, and gato. The paper is a master’s thesis on business model innovation. I don't think the relevant section is a typical component of a standard research paper. To make the English sound less awkward, I will translate the term as “Content”.
gato Posted December 21, 2015 at 06:40 AM Report Share Posted December 21, 2015 at 06:40 AM If "研究内容" is a summary of the paper, you can use the heading "Abstract" or just "Summary".
Kenny同志 Posted December 21, 2015 at 06:52 AM Author Report Share Posted December 21, 2015 at 06:52 AM Thanks gato. Unfortunately, it is neither an abstract nor a summary. : (
skylee Posted December 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM Report Share Posted December 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM And it is not about the scope of the research project?
Kenny同志 Posted December 22, 2015 at 04:07 AM Author Report Share Posted December 22, 2015 at 04:07 AM Thanks Skylee. 'Scope' would be a better option but I had sent the work in...
