Some similar words can only be used in certain sentences or situations. Here in a list is best to look at the corrections given by demonic_duck. Do you have flashcards for Pleco? If yes, you can download their HSK pack for free and then let it tag all the words included in HSK lists. This way when you search for a word you can check wich HSK level it belongs to. If it belongs to levels 1-3, it's most likely a commonly used word and you can use it too. Because this is a group for beginners, please use English to explain more complex grammatical issues. Unfortuantely your explanation in Chinese wont be understood by the participants of this group. Translation: It's not the word that is wrong, it's the usage of 走动. Chinese won't say that 走动 is a hobby, would rather say 散步 etc. 睡 can be used on it's own, but in this list all the other words are double syllable words consistin of verb+object, so it sounds more natural to write 睡觉 in this case.
