Interesting Youtube features

Maybe it's old news for everybody but me, but I've just discovered two features of Youtube that may interest some people, in particular those who use 锵锵三人行 as a learning tool. Note that I don't understand 锵锵三人行, it's way above my level, but I sometimes browse their Youtube channel to try to make something out of it (in vain up to now).

Today I saw that you can manually add subtitles to the videos (click on "... more"). For instance, you could open the transcription of a show and add subs either in Chinese or in English.

Also, I clicked on the wheel button on the video and saw that you can slow down the video by half. I turned it on and, of course, voices were slightly distorted, but not too much so. And, for the very first time, I was actually understanding what they were saying.

It's silly, but I felt great.

I like those video discussions. Have been watching them off and on for a couple of years. Didn't realize the playback speed could be adjusted. Thanks for that tip!

Strange. I have way more trouble understanding them than I do on normal speed... May the sound quality is too distorted for me?

Slowing it down causes lots of distortion for me too.

This is link to around 20 episodes of this show I upload to lingq.com with transcripts.

Lingq is paid but worth it. It's great if you upload your own stuff (When I have time I will be uploading articles with audio from wechat official account 十点读书, I recommend you guys try a similar thing).

I think 3 of these are messed up and I will correct them soon when I have time.

I'll try to upload more soon.

Enjoy!

@lukey296 I did not need to pay to use the courses that you created. I just made an account and got going.
