New Members Lillie03 Posted March 22, 2017 at 10:44 PM New Members Report Posted March 22, 2017 at 10:44 PM Hello! I was looking into opportunities to study for a year in Taiwan at a Chinese Language Center and was emailing universities and the embassy, but also wanted to ask here if I could get more insight on what it is like to study Mandarin in Taiwan, and what universities and/or language centers are recommended. I was interested especially in Tainan but other parts of Taiwan are all welcome. I was also looking for scholarships but the deadline for the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship and the Taiwan Scholarship both are March 31st I believe, and it is too short of a time to have everything ready, so I was also wondering if there were other scholarships I could apply to. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much! Quote
Jabri Posted March 24, 2017 at 02:15 PM Report Posted March 24, 2017 at 02:15 PM Hi Lili ! We are on the same boat. I applied for HES 2017 programme and I just sent all the required documents to the embassy in my country this morning. Did you write recommendation letter for your HES application ? I'm curious as referring to the Taiwan embassy in my country, it's not part of the requirement. I sent it anyhow. If you are looking for an opportunity to learn Chinese, I think you could try Chinese Government Scholarship(CGS) too. I applied this too and the result is coming out next week based on the China embassy in my country. By the way, I applied to National Cheng Kung Universit(NCKU) in Tainan too ! Quote
