hoshinoumi Posted May 2, 2017 at 08:25 AM Report Posted May 2, 2017 at 08:25 AM Hi everyone, next year I'll do a master's degree in teaching Chinese for speakers of other languages and I also want to get more serious with my learning, specifically linguistics (in general) and Chinese linguistics. I'd highly appreciate your reading recommendations for these topics as well as any other advice for a beginner Quote

Luxi Posted May 2, 2017 at 09:27 AM Report Posted May 2, 2017 at 09:27 AM @hoshinoumi , the mooc discussed in this thread (The Charm of Chinese, 魅力汉语) has a lot of good information on Chinese linguistics, especially if you haven't done it before. It lacks subtitles, but all the main points are on slides. You need to register with 中国大学 moocs to access the video lectures, more information on this thread. Once you have access you have several weeks to do what you can in your own time. If you skip the propaganda bits, it's not very long. 1 Quote
