On top of that, I've been having a hard time finding translation for some art terms (such as composition, tonal value, linework, portfolio, structure, gesture) what might the translations of these terms be (or where might I look to find them)? Where have you looked for your definitions of these words, previously? Have you checked Pleco? I tried searching baidu for some word lists (词汇). I tried 艺术专业，美术专业，and 绘画专业 to find some word lists. While they don't have most of the words you list, they have a lot of words for discussing art.
