I was offered the scholarship but at the same time I was diagnosed with HIV positive. I also sent them a letter from my doctor and the most recent blood lab results (both indicating undetectable viral loads... but I guess there is still a stigma with HIV in China... they must have just dropped it as soon as they saw the words HIV+) In the end... the turned down the offer, wishing me to re-apply when I am recovered... I was a bit upset when I heard that because everybody in the world knows that there is currently no cure for HIV... Like when?
