furiop 25 Report post Posted October 29, 2017 In a text with Hanzi and Pinyin, for a beginner it is almost impossible to avoid to look at pinyin, so there is an "addiction" to written phonetic help. DuShu proposal is to gradually hide pinyin fon known words, so it is easier to concentrate on Hanzi. If the skill level is higer, we need less phonetic help, but if there's some doubt we can reaveal the pinyin for each character. I tested it and I think that Android DuShu app has some really interesting ideas.
