Dear scholarship applicants,

Please don't forget we have LOTS of useful information on this site, not just the scholarship topics. We can advise on learning Chinese, life in China, visas and if you can't find what you need to know, you can ask a question

Take a look around!

I feel you. I applied to Zheda as well (doctoral program , type B). They were pretty clear in our first conversation that no emails would be sent regarding progresses made during applications and the outcome would be most probably published before end of this month in ZJU's international school webpage.

By the way, which program did you apply for?

Guess that makes sense, I never asked on whether or not we would be updated during the process. Guess we just have to wait. Hopefully we will get an answer in the next couple of days.

I applied to Chinese philosophy, plan on doing comparative research on Hellenistic/Roman philosophy and early Chinese thought. How about you?

I applied for research in major Fluid dynamics in school of aeronautics and astronautics there. My supervisor actually wrote me a month or so ago notifying me that I had passed university reviews and they would nominate me. Otherwise, we wont be having that info from ZJU anyways.  Hopefully in next few days we hear from them.

I'm really confused. If the list that was released and posted here yesterday (EU Window) was a list of scholarship awardees for university program (not embassy route, as someone clarified), doesn't that mean that the scholarship results should have already been released because they wouldn't have the list if the process hasn't been fully completed yet? Although I'm not from the EU, isn't that a weird indication that there has to be results released by now. But anyway, last year as far as I observed in this forum, the latest people got results was during the first weeks of August (which gives little to no time to prepare, not even mentioning how expensive plane tickets are). Let's just keep e-mailing our universities for updates.

Hey I don't think its the university program or the embassy because there is another scholarship route that is for EU students only so I believe it is those results. The university results seem to be the slowest and last priority for the CSC

As far as I know, the EU Window IS the embassy route for EU citizens.

@yanleiThe Chinese embassy in the UK has a bilateral program too but with an earlier deadline than the EU Window and slightly different eligibility criteria like:

"- be under the age of 45 and have completed at least two years of undergraduate study when applying for general scholar programs;"

A person without a university degree in the UK would have to apply through the EU Window :help

So I got word from the US embassy, because I had Tongji as my first choice, the CSC has already assigned me to Tongji, even though I would prefer to attend SJTU now.

So for future reference, it seems like the Embassy program gets priority over the University direct application, or the CSC receives their information first. At least that seems to be the case in my situation.

I'm a little bittersweet about it because I really changed my mind into wanting to goto SJTU, but I'm going to appreciate the opportunity to the fullest. Congratulations to everyone else who has gotten good news, and good luck to those still waiting!

Congrats you guys! I definitely think applying through the embassy is more advantageous than applying directly to the university. I wonder if there are less scholarships available for those of us who went through the university route now that all of the embassies have received their information. Best of luck to those of us who are still waiting!

anybody heard anything from zhejiang university or east china normal university??

Hello there! Yesterday my friend in China called to ISO office of East China Normal University, and as before their reply is "We haven't received the CSC results yet, please wait. The final results may come out in late July (and here they mean really late July, around 30-31th)". At the same time I have confirmed info that some people have already received DHL package from this university! (they applied for Government Scholarship type B, major is 企业管理) . So, I can just suppose that they are receiving CSC reply for each major separately, step by step. Last year the final result was announced by ECNU around 15-17th August (but I really hope it would be a bit faster this time!).

By the way, which major have you applied for?

I got my documents earlier this week. Indeed it is possible to get the scholarship more than once.

The University I chose did not notify me of nomination until it was finally approved by CSC. It was a loooong wait......application deadline was December 31st.

Those whose status is "in progress" and there is no notification from the University.....keep waiting patiently.

All the best to those still waiting and congratulations to the winners.

@Mengdaoren If you read a little bit further into this thread, multiple universities already published their list of recipients a few weeks back (I'm assuming these are direct university applicants + the embassy route). And then I've noticed that only embassies have released results this week? I think they're doing it by phases again like last year. Taking a bit longer for us, though, I guess. I'm assuming that those that received the scholarship already are the universities that have set their deadlines of application earlier? It's really hard to tell.
